Getting Dressed | Rediscovering Joy in Your Closet
An ode to recent outfits and shopping your own closet

There’s something magical about the act of getting dressed with intention. It’s a simple yet powerful way to set the tone for the day. For me, it sparks a sense of confidence and purpose, which oftentimes leads to increased productivity. Quite simply, I like feeling put together.
My husband jokes that I’ve dressed the same way since he met me freshman year of college. While I’d like to think I’ve evolved in the last 20+ years, to some degree, he’s right. I developed a strong sense of personal style early on in life (minus a brief detour into sk8er boi world circa 1998) and follow a compass that generally leads me to only buy pieces I love.
In a world brimming with trends and endless options (links! gift guides! paid partnerships!) it’s easy to fall into the trap of overconsumption. I’m not here to tell you what not to buy, or what not to wear, but I will say, it’s ok to wear your closet. Repeatedly.
Welcome to this little section of Notes Regarding: Getting Dressed. An ode to daily dressing in real life.
I won’t overcomplicate this. If you’re feeling in a style rut or looking for something similar, I hope this can be an inspiring place for you to start.1
